Arbis in Norrköping is ready to take its place among Sweden's top music venues, joining the ranks of Pustervik in Gothenburg and Katalin in Uppsala. It's a place full of music and culture that, with new owners, a new graphic profile, and a website that "speaks for itself," has been revitalized.
"We had an idea that we wanted to make a visual impact. It should be clear and easy for the audience to recognize us and navigate the site. The feeling we want to convey with the website is that it should be a bit messy, catch your eye, and feature large symbols to make it easy for our ticket buyers."
"This is fantastic news for the city, and timing was crucial to deliver a functional website for the press release. We had to work quickly and efficiently, understanding the business functions needed to provide Arbis with a smooth day-to-day workflow."
Carl Netz and Unn Rudolfsson both share their views on the project below. They were interviewed separately so as not to influence each other.
Carl from Beegleton shares:
The focus of the website is to present the various events and make ticket bookings. We needed to translate the graphic profile into a functional digital concept that showcased their powerful expression, while also providing them with a user-friendly website where multiple people could work together. It had to operate quickly and securely.
We were given free rein to get creative with the website, and our digital producers Victor Linder and Elin Berglund did a fantastic job. Often, when you create a website, you start with a homepage. Here, the blog is instead the homepage, designed like a program leaflet with "posters."
There was a lot of discussion about these "posters"—what do I want? Do I want to read more and then book? What works best? We created a fast-track to booking for those who want it, while those who prefer can read more.
Those collaborating on the website will be managing a lot of information. Here, the Snowfire blogging tool is ideal—it's so smooth and user-friendly.
There are many different types of images that need to fit into the same template. It was important that the design and form were maintained, even though we all know that images come in many different formats.
Now, the team at Arbis can simply upload an image without worrying whether it's in portrait or landscape. If the image doesn't fill the space, we blur an image behind it to pick up the color tones.
It’s often the small things that make the difference. We understand websites and know what's required. We always try to think one step ahead to make things easier for our clients.
Haha, they didn’t have a choice. It came down to the fact that we had a tight deadline and needed to launch something quickly and sustainably.
There was no debate—it had to be on Snowfire. It's all about trust; the owners trust us and our recommendations. And, by the way, one of the owners already has their websites on Snowfire and knows it's a valuable resource for achieving success online.
When you have a tight deadline, you need a framework. In Snowfire, our web designers can work directly with the graphic expression and are completely free. We have the business tool we know works, and there’s no need for installation on a web host. It’s simply faster and cheaper than if we had used another platform. Building a strong foundation is key.
As the project manager, I'm most satisfied that we were able to translate the graphic expression to the web in such a short time, and I'm incredibly proud of our web designers who delivered so quickly, despite the high demands placed on them.
A website isn't about starting small. With the right mindset and the right platform, you can go full speed ahead from the start. That's where I believe the strength of Snowfire, combined with us as designers, lies—that's where the magic happens.
I think being a client in the middle of this process must be fantastic. The client can focus on their business, while we turn their website into a strong and sustainable resource for their company.
Unn at Arbis shares:
I've worked in the music industry and live production for several years. Previously, I handled the production of artists' tours, making sure they knew where they needed to be and at what times. Now, I’ve switched sides and am responsible for booking the artists and updating our website.
Johan Doverhjelm, who is a co-owner of the operations company, recommended them, and he is very satisfied.
Viktor Linder, Carl Netz, Elin Berglund, and Elin Bergman were attentive and immediately grasped our vision. Beegleton is quick to refine the details. It felt like everything we wanted was possible here.
In addition to the website, Elin Bergman also created templates for social media, allowing us to work efficiently there as well.
The website turned out exactly as we wanted—loud, functional, and visually appealing. I was also pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to work with Snowfire. It simply works great.
For me, with no background in working with websites, Snowfire is very user-friendly and pedagogical.
We have limited time for hands-on work. It’s easy to insert the blocks and everything is interconnected. My ongoing work is smooth, and I can easily invite others and show them how to proceed.
We had our first concert on Saturday. Now it's full speed ahead, and so much is happening this fall.
José González, who was here on Saturday, is one of my favorites, but keep an eye on Ellen Krauss and Svenska Björnstammen at home. That’s going to be exciting.
“It’s all about keeping an eye on our website,” laughs Unn.
